We can see how this combination of corruption and inequality is a clear handicap to getting richer.
In particular we see that the top right corner is empty. It appears that high levels of corruption and inequality in a country are incompatible with getting rich.
In the more detailed study. I show how this is true of both just corruption and just inequality, but adding the two effects gives a stronger correlation, i.e. a clearer handicap.
