Here, at last, is the Grand Unifying Theory, the answer to life the universe and everything, a Theory of Everything:

nature abhors comfort.

What do we mean by nature? It is how things are for everyone, the unavoidable and it is summed up by "laws". In particular there is the second law of dynamics, Parkinsons law, Greshams law, LeChatilier's principle, sods law, the Peter principle, Malthus's law.

What do we mean by comfort? It is what we yearn for, that fairy-tale state of living-happily-every-after, equilibrium, peace, justice, stability, an absence of suffering. In the physical sciences it is the absence of decay, irreversability, instability and chaos. In maths it is the absence of paradox.

In real life the state of comfort is under attack by evolution, pests, parasites, predators, corruption, old age and the next generation.

So, can we prove that this GUT is true?

There would be comfort in doing this, so we can safely predict that it will not be proved. On the other hand, proving that it is untrue would bring even more comfort, so we are destined to be always uncertain. (However, I am not comfortable with this conclusion)

Put another way:

There is no utopia
