And the final race is off! and, as expected, the combination of corruption and inequality seems to act as a handicap. But this time the the runners are more bunched together. When we draw the same line as before, none of the runners are above it.

This is possible because some countries, Singapore for example, have moderately high levels of inequality which is compensated for by low levels of corruption.

The opposite is true for many of the ex-Soviet Union states, where inequality is relatively low but corruption is notoriously high.
